As of approximately 7:00 PM yesterday, we are pleased to inform you that water service has been successfully restored. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this situation may have caused. The onset of the utility work was unexpectedly delayed, and unforeseen issues arose, leading to a disruption of water service beyond the anticipated timeline. Please rest assured that our crew worked diligently throughout the evening to resolve the matter promptly. Additionally, I would like to remind everyone that the entire town is currently under a boil water advisory. This advisory will remain in effect until we are confident that the water is safe for human consumption (estimated 3 days). Further notification will be issued once the advisory has been lifted. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Additionally, please note that the Bulk Water fill station has been temporarily closed until the boil water advisory is rescinded. UPDATE on Utility repair taking place today (Nov 26th). We have ran into some difficulties with the utility repair and the team is doing their best to have the repair completed as quickly as possible. BOIL WATER ADVISORY Notice to all users of the Erickson Public Water System Due to a utility repair, the water supply to Erickson will be temporarily shut off beginning at 1pm Tuesday November 26, 2024. As a result, the safety of the water cannot be assured and precautionary boil water advisory has been issued to the Erickson Public Water System to ensure the protection of public health. The boil water advisory will take effect once the water is turned back on, TUESDAY NOVEMBER 26, 2024 The Advisory will remain in effect until the water is safe for human consumption (estimated timeline is 3 days). Municipal Development Plan Update The Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson is working to update its Development Plan. This document outlines a vision for the future of the Municipality, and directs future land development. Working with community planning consultants Scatliff + Miller + Murray, the Municipality hosted a community open house in June to inform residents about the project, and had also received a comprehensive background study to support the Plan. We are now ready to share preliminary options and directions for the new plan, including updated land use maps. Well Water Testing Day is August 9, 2021 Assiniboine West Watershed District will once again be coordinating well water testing, and will pay for shipping of water samples to the testing lab. Major Storm Drainage Upgrade in North Erickson to Commence June 16 Beginning June 16, 2021, equipment and employees from Ken Beatty Construction will be making improvements to the storm drainage system on the north side of Erickson, so that we do not see a repeat of the flooding events that have occurred periodically between Queen Elizabeth Avenue and Centre Avenue, north of Third Street. The work is expected to last approximately one week. There will be disruptions to traffic flow, and we ask that you exercise caution while driving in the area, and keep children away. Burning Ban Lifted for Municipalities of Clanwilliam-Erickson and Harrison Park The Municipalities of Harrison Park and Clanwilliam-Erickson are very pleased to finally lift the fire ban for our areas. We would like to THANK all residences, ratepayers, and visitors for their cooperation during the fire ban to keep our area safe. We have all seen on the news the devastation fire has caused to many other Manitoba areas. Even with the fire ban our fire departments were kept busy with other fires. We hope the rains extinguish the many fires in our province that are out of control. Main Street Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project Beginning May 25, 2021, preparations will begin for Phase 1 of our Main Street sidewalk rehabilitation project. On the south side of Main Street, sidewalk repairs will occur from the west side of the Heritage Co-op grocery store to the east side of the Little Hands Learning Centre. A second phase will include the area in front of the Heritage Co-op grocery store, but the timing of this phase is not yet known. On the north side of Main Street, sidewalk repairs will occur from the intersection with Centre Avenue, west to join the existing new sidewalk at Northstar Insurance. We expect that concrete will be poured on June 2nd and 3rd, but this will be subject to weather. Sidewalks will be unusable for 24 hours after concrete is poured. Clanwilliam-Erickson Endowment Fund grows to surpass $100,000! Thanks to your generous support, the municipal endowment fund continues to grow and has now surpassed $100,000! The endowment fund is an investment whose principal grows over time through donations, and whose interest is used to fund important community projects. Since 2015, the endowment fund has granted more than $10,000 to organizations such as Kiddie Kollege, the Recreation Association, Services to Seniors, and the Clanwilliam-Erickson Childcare Initiative, to name just a few.
