Solid Waste Transfer Station
The Transfer Station is open the following hours:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
As per By-law No.97-24 persons authorized to deposit waste at the Erickson Waste Disposal Grounds are:
The Transfer Station attendant has the right to refuse a person’s use of the facility should the above requirements not be met.
Transfer Station - Tipping Fees
Tipping Fees are now in effect. The following materials will be subject to a fee which will be due and payable at the gate.
Construction and Demolition Waste, including all materials generated from the construction, renovation, or demolition of a structure, including but not limited to wood, concrete, and plumbing fixtures.
Landscape and Excavation Material, including all materials generated from the landscaping, excavation, or alteration of land, including brush/trees, earth, and rocks.
The fees are set as follows: Per Tonne
Construction and Demolition Waste $240.00
Excavation Material, Fill, Rocks $15.00
Trees and Brush, raw wood that can be legally burned Free
Household and outdoor furniture $180.00
Large Appliances $10 each
Propane and other fuel tanks $5/tank
No Fee shall be charged for household waste for owners and residents of property in the Municipality.
Loads must be separated at time of scaling.
Mixed loads will result in the disposal fee for the most expensive material being applied to the entire load.

- Owners of property located within the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson
- Residents of the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson

Garbage Collection
Residential garbage collection occurs every Monday in Erickson, and commercial garbage collection occurs on Monday and Friday.
In the event that a holiday causes a long weekend with Monday being the extra day off work, garbage collection will instead occur on Tuesday of that week. If Friday is the extra day off work, commercial garbage collection will occur on Thursday.
Please ensure that your garbage is ready for pickup by 8:30 am.
Residential garbage collection occurs every Monday in Erickson, and commercial garbage collection occurs on Monday and Friday.

The South Mountain Waste Management Group operates a 24-hour recycling drop-off facility south of the corner of Main Street and Centre Avenue in Erickson. Materials accepted include glass, #s 1, 2, 4 & 5 plastics, aluminum and tin cans, newsprint, cardboard/boxboard, and milk and juice cartons. All materials MUST be sorted. Batteries may also be recycled inside the recycling centre, and in the Municipal Office and Professional Centre.

Pickup will be every Wednesday
Approved recyclable materials must be on the curb by 8:30 a.m. for collection. Recyclables must be bagged in clear bags. To ensure safety for both staff and residents, glass items will not be accepted through curbside pickup. Glass can instead be dropped off at the Municipality’s designated depot for proper processing and handling.
