2026 General election

Voting will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Erickson Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, at 30 First Street SW, Erickson, MB.

Information for Candidates

Candidate Eligibility
To be eligible for nomination to the office of Councillor or Head of Council, a candidate must be 18 years of age or older on election day, and reside or own land in the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson for a period of at least 6 months prior to the election.

Candidate Registration
Candidates must register with the SEO before accepting contributions and spending money to campaign, and before submitting nomination forms. Candidates may register until September 22, 2026.

The nomination period is September 16 - 22, 2026.

Information for Voters

Voting Eligibility
Canadian Citizens of 18 years of age and older are eligible to vote in the municipal election, provided that they have resided and/or owned property in the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson for a period of at least 6 months prior to the election. Persons with no fixed address, and persons who leave their residence in the municipality on a temporary basis are also eligible to vote in a municipal election. 

Any person who is eligible to vote in the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson municipal elections may have their name added to the Voters List by contacting the SEO.

Which Ward should I Vote In?
Resident voters can only vote for candidates running in the Ward they reside in, even if they own property in the other Ward.

Non-residents who own property in the municipality can only vote for candidates running in the Ward they own property in. If a non-resident owns property in both Ward 1 (rural) and Ward 2 (urban), they will need to choose a single Ward to vote in.

A maximum of two non-resident property owners, per property, are permitted to vote in a municipal election. Please contact the SEO for details.
